Pinterest Testing Video Ads

buyable pin pinterestPinterest is reportedly testing its first video ads, building on the ad offering that it launched at the beginning of last year.

According to Digiday, promoted video pins are currently being tested with a small group of users, as well internally at Pinterest.

The videos autoplay based on the users scrolling action, similar to the cinematic pin ads Pinterest introduced last May – though those leveraged GIF animations rather than full video content.

The length of the video ads is still undecided, but is presumably being ironed out through these tests.

Pinterests ad offering is still in the early stages. As it stands, ads are only available to buy in the US, but are set to launch in the UK in the first half of 2016.
