Plants vs Zombies 2 Hits 16m Downloads in Five Days

EAs mobile game Plants vs Zombies 2 has been downloaded more than 16m times since it launched last Thursday.

The free app, developed by PopCap, is currently exclusive to iOS – but it doesnt seem that its unavailability on Android has done much damage to its popularity.

Its the most successful mobile game launch in EA’s history, with day-one downloads nearly double those of the publishers previous record on mobile. The game has hit the #1 spot in the App Store in 137 countries and, over the last five days, has been played for a total 25m hours – meaning the average player has engaged with the app for around an hour and a half.
