Mobile technology and content development company ROK Entertainment Group has added the movie, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, to its growing portfolio of titles available on memory card for playback on compatible mobile phones. Priced at 18, the movie will be available for a short period of time exclusively online, before being made available in selected high street phone shops in the UK and internationally.
ROK has now licensed more than 100 titles for its content portfolio, including BBC comedies Little Britain and The Office, as well as SpongeBob Squarepants, South Park and cult movie, The Shawshank Redemption. In addition, ROK has a growing library of music video albums.
ROK Players patented technology stores copy-protected audio-visual content on memory cards to play full-screen on more than 30 leading smartphones including Nokias range of Symbian handsets and Microsoft handsets.
“To be able to watch an entire movie on your mobile whenever and wherever you like without expensive downloads or over-the-air streaming is a real breakthrough in mobile entertainment” says ROK Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Kendrick. We are already seeing huge levels of interest in cult movies as well as for music video albums and TV comedies on ROK Player memory cards.
