PrimeLocation.com Reports 11 Per Cent Mobile Traffic

Property website PrimeLocation.com has announced that mobile accounted for 11 per cent of traffic in the last year, and that it is expanding its mobile portfolio has a result.

In the past 12 months, the site has witnessed an increase in traffic from all mobile platforms, says PrimeLocation.com. However, across the different platforms, traffic sources have shifted: 79 per cent of mobile users arrive from an iPhone – a fall from 81 per cent last year. BlackBerry use has dropped from 11 to 9 per cent, whilst Android has grown from 6 per cent to 11 per cent over the last year.

And, PrimeLocation.com aims to capitalise on this growth with the release of a dedicated Android app, which launched last week.

Sheraz Dar, marketing director for Digital Property Group, says: “The increase in demand for Prime properties has meant we have seen similar trends in our site usage over the last few years. Additionally we are seeing an uptake in mobile traffic as our consumers are finding more ways to keep up with the latest properties available in their search criteria.

“Weekend visits via mobile account for 15 per cent of our traffic over the same time, which can be as much as twice the level of weekday use. The peak visiting time on a Sunday is 8-9am as browsing in bed increasingly becomes a trend.”

Overall traffic has increased by 15 per cent in the year from September 2010 to September 2011, says the company.
