Ad-supported mobile gaming network Cellufun has launched MobilePet myPhone, a virtual pet game for mobile handsets. The game allows users to care for, play with and feed the pet, and is available free of charge to consumers. The game works on all web-enabled handsets, and with all carriers.
MobilePets are pet avatars that live inside the mobile phone. Like any pet, they must be fed, played with and washed to keep them healthy and happy. Cellufun says that MobilePet gamers form a large, worldwide social network, and MobilePet aficionados text-message each other and send their pets back and forth for visits constantly. MobilePet gamers are also in competition, scoring points and rising in the rankings depending on how many activities they perform with their pet and how often they interact with their fellow MobilePet users. Cellufun has almost half a million MobilePet owners worldwide.
MobilePet myPhone is the latest in Cellufuns suite of MobilePets, which includes MobilePet Dog, MobilePet Pig, MobilePet Monkey, MobilePet Penguin and the soon to be released MobilePet Cow.
Some folks will fork out hundreds of dollars for a new iPhone, but as cool as the device is, you need entertainment content to take advantage of its capabilities, says Cellufun CEO Arthur Goikhman. We offer games, cartoons and even pets for pretty much any web-enabled mobile phone, and our content works on hundreds of handsets, so you dont have to spend a dime to have a good time.
Since its launch in April 2006, Cellufun has delivered close to four million downloads to consumers in 160 countries. Cellufun gamers can download a variety of single-player games or join multi-player competitions, from Sudoku and chess to casino games and arcade-style space battles and racing games.
