Quidco Launches Cashback App

Cashback and voucher website Quidco.com has launched an iPhone app that rewards users with cash and exclusive money-saving offers for checking in to certain stores and restaurants.

Quidco.com pays cashback when people click through and make a purchase at any of the 3,000 retailers listed on its website. The Quidco app provides users with all the money-saving offers available nearby, including vouchers and in-store cashback deals. It also presents cash incentives and bigger offers for users who check in to certain restaurants and stores. Companies already signed up to offer exclusive deals and savings via the Quidco app include stores Debenhams, Yo Sushi and Esquires Coffee, plus a number of gyms and travel agents.

The app displays the offers available to users when they are out and about.  Instant discounts are available by showing the voucher code or barcode on the iPhone screen at the point of sale. Users can get an in-store cashback by registering a debit or credit card on the app or the Quidco website, and using it to pay in the shop.  The check-in function, which is currently available at 12,000 locations in the UK, rewards users with cash or bigger offers than previously shown, when selected while inside the store or restaurant. The cash is paid into the user’s Quidco account and can be withdrawn twice monthly.

“While other apps inform the users of offers in their local area, the incentivised check-ins on the Quidco app will encourage consumers inside stores, thereby giving retailers more of an opportunity to influence customers and make a sale,” says Quidco’s Hannah Green.

Quidco has 1.2m members and has embarked on a “significant”marketing campaign to ensure that as many of its members as possible download the free app. The app is available as a free download from iTunes from today.
