Shopping TV channel QVC UK has launched a free Android app, giving viewers the chance to access the full range of featured products on their mobile devices. 

The app, which offers more than 15,000 products for sale, is similar to the brands existing iPhone app in terms of functionality. It features a buy now button that allows customers to place an order using their existing QVC account, and there is also a call to order feature, allowing the user to contact QVCs order line. 

The apps homepage offers a daily special, One Time Only value products, and a shortcut to the current on-air item. Users can also tune into the TV channel through the app. 

The company says that the iPhone app now accounts for 5 per cent of all sales. 

Gina Deeble, director multi-channel planning and commerce at QVC UK, says: “The success of our updated iPhone app, which has now been downloaded over 115,000 times, led to the development of the Android app. Were confident customers with Android phones will love being able to now shop on-the-go.”

The services to support the app were developed in-house in conjunction with QVC USA.
