Consumer reviews website Qype has announced that it has partnered with Microsoft to bring its services to Windows Phone 7.
Exclusive features for WP7 include the ability for users to track their friends check ins on a map. Users also have advanced filters for searches and a Windows Panorama Screen to view lots of information at once.
The app allows users to use Windows Phones geolocation features to find business and services in the vicinity. It also gives access to Qype affiliate offers, and vouchers can be redeemed via the phone instantly.
The app also allows Qype users to write reviews or comments on the handset, and upload pictures taken with the device. You can also check into places which can be published to Facebook and Twitter.
“Qype has become an essential app for todays smartphone user, and were delighted to be working with Microsoft to bring it to Windows 7 phones. A quarter of our reviews are posted via a mobile device and Im looking forward to seeing that number grow through this partnership,” says Ian Brotherston, Qype CEP.
Frank Fischer, Microsoft Germanys diretor of mobile communications, says local recommendations is becoming a key usage area for smartphone users. “With the innovative local services of the Windows Phone our customers will now be able to access this information whenever and wherever they want to,” he says.
The app was developed by mobile development company iconmobile. It is available now for free from AppHub.
