Rapid Mobile Media, which provides mobile advertising and mobile application provisioning software platforms, has announced the appointment of Richard Eyre as a Non-executive Director and Chairman of the Board.
Eyre brings invaluable experience of over 30 years in the media business to the post, having previously served as Chief Executive of Capital Radio plc, Chief Executive of the ITV Network and CEO and Chairman of Pearson Television. He is currently Chairman of the Internet Advertising Bureau, GCAP Media plc, TV production company RDF plc, and a Director of The Eden Project. He began his career in advertising, becoming the first Media Director at Bartle Bogle Hegarty in 1986.
Few people doubt that the mobile advertising market will be huge, says Eyre. I believe its time has come. In the near future, mobile advertising will represent a multi-billion dollar segment of the global media industry. By enabling the delivery of high quality, highly targeted display advertisements within mobile applications and mobile Internet services, Rapid Mobile has the technology to enhance advertisers and publishers communications with their customers, so I believe this company is extremely well positioned to benefit from the growth of a new medium.
Commenting on Eyres appointment, Rapid Mobile CEO, Jeremy Copp, says:
Richards industry experience and guidance will undoubtedly add significant value to the organisation as we build on our current proven successes to secure a leadership position in delivering technology platforms to the global media industry. We are delighted to welcome him to the company as Chairman of the Board.
