Spanish football club Real Madrid has become the latest top-flight football club to select InfoMedia Services to develop and manage its direct-to-consumer and on-portal mobile content and SMS operations in the UK.
As part of the agreement, InfoMedia will develop and manage one of the most comprehensive direct-to-consumer mobile Internet sites for the La Liga champions, as well as creating a web-based mobile downloads solution which will be integrated into the English language version of the clubs official website.
Official Real Madrid microsites are also being developed for major UK operators, including Orange, O2, Vodafone, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile and Tesco Mobile, ensuring Reals UK-based supporters can access the latest information about their club via their mobile phone.
All portals will feature downloadable content, as well official club news and SMS alert packages. InfoMedia will also develop subscription services and special offer bundles such as Champions League video clips. A broad range of additional mobile content services is also in development by InfoMedia, which will manage the global portfolio of Real Madrid mobile content and distribution through telcos, media partners and Real Madrid channels.
Real Madrid has millions of supporters worldwide, with a large percentage of those living outside of Spain, so its important that they are able to follow and support the club whichever country they are in, says Real Madrid Sales Director, Begoa Sanz.
