realbuzz, Real Maps, Real Passion

realbuzz.com, the social network enabling virtual friends to meet up on and offline, has launched Map Your Passion, which it describes as an interactive global path-finding tool. Users are able to create a personalised avatar and walk through real world routes. The company says that realbuzz.com users can use the tool to help live their lives to the full.
Users can search existing routes or create their own, complete with distances, using detailed maps and satellite images. They can further amplify the maps by adding markers of their own, including images and video. Other realbuzz.com users can then benefit from this information. Map Your Passion offers an interactive alternative to the traditional route planner and travel guide, the company says, with the added bonus of allowing users to promote their own favourite running routes or nights out, for example
Map Your Passion routes can be downloaded to users GPS-equipped phones, PDAs and Satnav systems. The service also has integrated hotel and travel information.
It is all about freedom, says realbuzz.com Marketing Director, Fiona Gibbins. Giving our users the freedom to plan their routes and get out from behind their desk. Were also planning further functions in the near future, including weather and traffic statistics. In short we see our planner as the perfect tool for organising anything from a stag night to a mountain bike race. It really is a true lifestyle planning tool.
The company adds that brands will be able to use the service to reach users and provide exclusive offers, content and local information. The service is free to users.
