High street fashion brand Republic has launched a mobile-optimised mCommerce website.
Provided by eCommerce solutions company Digby, the site is based on the Venda Mobile Platform, which is the engine behind mobile sites from retail brands including Accessorize, Emma Bridgewater, Jimmy Choo, and Paperchase.
The Republic mobile site, which can be accessed by visiting www.republic.co.uk on a mobile device, offers the ability to shop by category, as well as product images that are viewable from multiple angles. It also supports customer reviews of items, and the ability to share picks through Facebook and Twitter. There is an ever-present search bar, a special offers section, and a store locator.
“It is clear that mobile is quickly becoming one of the most proven and relevant ways for consumers to have access to our products anytime, anywhere,” says Jo Molineux, head of multi-channel at Republic. “A mobile-optimised website that enables our valuable customers to research products, find Republic locations and purchase items whether they are out and about, at home or in one of our stores will strategically enhance our multi-channel strategy.”
Eric Abensur, group chief executive of Venda, says: “Mobile Commerce is growing at a phenomenal rate, and we are pleased that Republic has launched their new site on the Venda Advanced Mobile Platform. This is a perfect example of convergent multi-channel commerce with the mobile channel joining Republics hugely successful Venda-powered online store and their successful high-street stores. We are sure that the young, cool and trendy shoppers that typify Republics customers are going to be avid users of this new anytime, anywhere shopping channel.”
