BlackBerry-maker RIM has introduced two SDKs for the development community to work on the companys Tablet OS.
The BlackBerry WebWorks SDK 2.0 for Tablet OS and Smartphones separates JavaScript SPIs from the OS, allowing developers to easily modify existing APIs and package them with their BlackBerry WebWorks apps, says the company. The BlackBerry WebWorks framework and all of the APIs are open source, and are available on GitHub!
The other new SDK is the BlackBerry Tablet OS SDK for Adobe AIR. This is the final version, and includes special APIs for the BlackBerry PlayBook, as well as a PlayBook emulator and a guide to getting started on the platform. The new SDKs coincide with the launch of the PlayBook in the US market.
