River Island Expands App to Amazon Kindle

RI KindleClothing retailer River Island has expanded its mCommerce app to Amazons Kindle, making it one of the few UK retailers to do so.

The Kindle version of the app was designed by NN4M, and marks the companys determination to reach users throughout the mCommerce ecosystem. River Island has already released apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry, with collective downloads of 3.6m.

The Kindle app enables users to shop the companys entire range, view trends and check in at local stores, as well as check stock levels at nearby stores, and share purchases via social media.

“As an ever expanding brand, NN4M has enabled us to allow our customers to shop across a multitude of devices,” said Seveena Burgess, site experience manager at River Island. “The launch of the app on Kindle offers our customers yet another device for shopping online.”

“Were delighted to have brought River Islands vision to life on Kindle,” said Jonathan Heap, chief technical officer at NN4M. “The success of River Islands existing iPhone, Android, iPad and Blackberry apps has emphasized not only that customers find the app-based shopping experiences far more immersive and satisfying than traditional websites, but that consumers are increasingly interested in a seamless experience across a range of devices.”
