Robert Walters Goes Mobile

Professional recruitment consultancy Robert Walters has launched the free Robert Walters Job Search iPhone app. The app, created by Chelsea Apps Factory, enables job-seekers to search the recruiter’s entire database and apply for jobs via their mobile devices. The company says it is the first app to allow users to register themselves and create a CV using their LinkedIn profile. An Android version is also in development.

Users can create their own profile based on the sectors they’re interested in and have notifications about job opportunities sent directly to their phone. Additional features include the ability to save favourite searches and jobs for review at a later date; a Robert Walters office-finder to locate the nearest recruitment consultant; and full integration with iOS, meaning that calls and emails can be instigated through the app.

The app is available initially in the UK, but will be translated into 12 languages and rolled out to 22 territories worldwide over the next few months. The firm also has plans for a Salary Checker app for iOS and Android devices in Q2. The apps will allow jobseekers to study wage data and compare their own salaries against those in the rest of the marketplace and will also be produced by Chelsea Apps Factory.

“Anyone who’s ever spent time hunting for their dream position knows that it can be very difficult to stay on top of all the information about the job market that exists out there on the web, and even more difficult to cut through it and find what they need,” says Robert Walters head of digital, Phil Jenkins. “Robert Walters Job Search is the only global recruitment app on the market, and it addresses these difficulties in a straightforward and user-friendly manner. There’s never been a more important time to make the right career move and this is the first of a suite of apps we’re releasing to make sure jobseekers have the toolkit they need to make the right move for them.”
