ROK Entertainment Group, has announced a partnership with digital media firm AMS Interactive (AMSi) to develop full-service web and mobile portals for the streaming of on-demand music.
AMSi specializes in the deployment of customizable audio content platforms for retail and corporate customers. Hese platforms offer the ability to deliver marketing messages directly at point of sale, and also provide interactive online music delivery services, including song skipping, favourites tracking, countdown channels, and a robust search feature.
ROK has amassed a broad portfolio of revenue-generating mobile services, including the award-winning ROK TV which enables the streaming of live and on-demand video to mobile phones over mass-market 2.5G and 3G networks. .
We believe the future of music consumption is not through the traditional ownership of songs via download or through the purchase of CDs, but rather in what will become an ever-increasingly popular trend of renting vast libraries of music from which listeners will be able to stream exactly the genre of music they want, on-demand, whenever and wherever they are through a variety of media, including the Internet and mobile phones, says ROK Chairman and CEO, Jonathan Kendrick.
Kendrick adds that the two companies are working on several business models for on-demand music streaming services, including both ad-funded and free-from-advertising subscription models.
