Rovio partners with Super Bowl LII for Angry Birds promotion

Finnish game developer Rovio has partnered with the NFL to bring a taste of the upcoming Super Bowl LII to the studios Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Evolution games. A limited-time event within the apps will enable users to access exclusive content and customise their characters with in-game items related to the Super Bowl.

Within Angry Birds 2, mobile gamers and football fans will be able to outfit their flocks with a choice of any of the 32 official NFL jerseys and helmets to compete in brand new Super Bowl-themed game levels, as well as in-game competitions.

In Angry Birds Evolution, the Super Bowl LII event will introduce 32 new NFL characters into the game, as well as an exclusive new bird character called the Quarterback, who will be outfitted in an NFL team jersey. The event will carry over into the games player-vs-player environment, The Oinktagon, which will get a Super Bowl LII-themed makeover transforming it into a football field.
