Rovio Unveils Angry Birds Go!

Rovio Entertainment has revealed the latest addition to its Angry Bird franchise: Angry Birds Go!, a Mario Kart-style racing game for iOS, Android, WP8 and BlackBerry 10. 

The app, which launches on 11 December, will be a free-to-play title, though Rovio hasnt yet confirmed whether this will be supported through in-app advertising, digital purchases or other means.

Angry Bird Go! will be supported with a line of Skylanders-style models from Hasbro, using the toy companys Telepods technology to enable users to scan the models to gain access to the relevant character or vehicle in-game.

Rovio also revealed its latest set of licensing partners around the launch: Fashion UK, Leomil, Blueprint, Tigerprint, BIP, Brandon, Mondelez, Penguin, Hatber and Alisa. It covers just about every possible type of the merchandising imaginable, including Angry Birds greeting cards, confectionery, books, sporting goods, stationery and luggage.
