Mobile TV solutions provider Rubberduck Media Lab has announced a collaboration with German public broadcaster Deutsche Welle. Deutsche Welle broacasts to an international audience, with radio channels in 30 languages and TV in several languages, including German and English.
Through the mobile portal mobile.dw-world.de Deutsche Welle users can access a wide range of news, entertainment, culture and sports programming. The offering includes regular TV and radio shows from Deutsche Welles archives, but also made-for-mobile clips between two and five minutes long. The service can be used regardless of the network the user is on, and viewers pay only for data costs.
Rubberducks Studio: 1 platform handles the technology behind the video-on-demand service and handles the conversion of the videos to a mobile format to suit all network types, such as 3G or EDGE, and all video-capable phones.
