More than $23m has been raised by a campaign in Russia to help victims of floods in the east of the country and surrounding areas.
Russian citizens, as well as people living in former Russian states, were encouraged to text VMESTE (Together) to 4447 for around $1.40 to make a donation. Channel One, which created the campaign along with SMS provider i-Free, brought together Russian celebrities and created special news packages from communities hit by the floods. More than 9.5m people took part in it the All Together fundraiser.
The TV network will direct the funds to the construction of new homes for affected families.
