Astellia, which develops solutions to test the quality of service and performance of mobile networks, has announced two new contract wins in South America. The first is in Chile, where one of the countrys largest operators has appointed Astellia to audit its GSM and UMTS (3G) network. The Astellia solution complements the operators internal tools, giving the operational optimization team a complete picture of customers behaviour and of the network Quality of Service.
Astellia says the operator appreciates the fact that a single non-intrusive and vendor-independent solution provides roaming statistics and information per handset type, enabling the operator to monitor both the core and the access network.
Astellia has also been contracted by a Tier 1 Operator in Colombia to perform an audit of its GSM network. The operator wishes to benchmark and check the behaviour of its network after a swap to a new equipment manufacturer due to NGN (Next-generation Network) migration. After giving a snapshot of the network and delivering a detailed troubleshooting report, Astellia has made recommendations on how to further optimise and improve network performance.
Astellia is exhibiting at the AmericasCom exhibition in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, today and tomorrow, and at the FutureCom exhibition in Sao Paulo, Brazil from 27-30 October.
