Sainsburys Redesigns Marketing Mail for Mobile

Sainsbury’s is launching a mobile-friendly redesign of its fortnightly email newsletters. The emails use responsive design to automatically detect the recipients devices and deliver content resized and shaped appropriately.

The redesign, which was overseen by creative influence agency TMW, comes after Sainsburys found that in January, 28 per cent of its newsletter recipients opened their emails on a mobile device.

“People today are constantly on the move and mobile has become a big part of everyday life,” says Sarah Kilmartin, head of targeted customer communications, at Sainsbury’s. “One of our key aims is to make our customer’s lives as easy as possible and providing good quality content online and on mobile is an important part of that. Mobile tracking is just one of the tools we’ve used to improve the way we communicate with our customers.”
