Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Mega – and unlike some of its recent forebears, with head-scratchingly abstract names like Galaxy Young and Win, the Mega is aptly named.
With its 6.3” display, the device is the largest smartphone yet announced, and falls firmly into that hazy middle ground between smartphone and tablet marked phablet.
The Megas display is a full inch larger than the original Galaxy Note, Samsungs previous venture into phablet territory, and bears many of its tablet-esque features, including split-screen functionality for selected apps, and Air View, which can be used to preview emails and photos.
The device is set to launch in mid-May, running on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) with a 1.7GHz dual core processor and 1.5GB of RAM.
Theres also a 5.8” version of the Mega in the works, but that wont be available in the UK.
