Samsung Launches Brand Apps Category

Samsung Apps has unveiled a new ‘Brand’ category, where users can download their favorite premium-brand apps. The category launches with apps from Bobbi Brown, FENDI and Lancôme.

The Bobbi Brown app teaches women how to apply makeup professionally. The FENDI app from the Italian luxury fashion house includes how-to videos, interviews, wallpaper, e-cards and a store locator function. And the Make-up by Lancôme app includes make-up advice, video tutorials and news from the luxury cosmetic brand.

The Brand category will host multiple luxury brand apps in the fashion, jewellery, automotive and cosmetics segments. All apps will be available on Samsung’s Wave family of smartphones: the Wave 525, 533, 575 and 723. Samsung Apps is currently available in 112 countries.

“Luxury consumer brands’ mobile applications are becoming more commonplace,” says Kanghyun Kwon, vice president of the Media Solution Center at Samsung Electronics. “The introduction of premium-brand applications not only provides customers up-to-date information about their favourite brands, but it also positions Samsung Apps as a high-value brand itself.”
