Samsung Launches Galaxy Round With Curved Screen

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Round handset, with a screen that curved inwards, designed to enable users to check information on their phone even when the display is turned off.

The tilt function, for checking batter life and missed calls without waking the phone up, is being touted as more of a proof of concept, preparing consumers for the flexible and foldable devices of the future.

The 5.7-inch device weighs less than the Galaxy Note 3, but shares many of the same features, and will cost $1,000 (£623). Only consumers in South Korea, via SK Telecom, will be able to get their hands on it at present, with no decision had been made about releasing it in other markets.
