Samsung Electronics has unveiled 8” and 10.1” versions of its forthcoming Galaxy Tab 3 tablet.
Alongside the previously announced 7” edition, this announcement expands the Tab 3 from a single model into its own line – which Samsung is calling, sensibly enough, the Galaxy Tab 3 Series.
The two devices have similar, though not identical, specs: the 8” version features a 1.5 GHz dual core processor, and 1.5GB of RAM, while the 10.1” has a 1.6GHz dual core processor, but only 1GB RAM. Both run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean), and come preloaded with Samsungs usual range of software. The line of tablets will be available in 4G, 3G, and wi-fi versions.
Samsung says the Tab 3 range will be available in “later this year”.
Its interesting to note that, according to an Adfonic study last week, CTR on Samsung tablets has been rapidly catching up to the iPad, which obviously dominates the market.
