Scalado, which specialises in mobile imaging software solutions for fast and memory efficient image processing, has revealed that it has become an associate member of the International Imaging Industry Association (I3A), the leading global association for the mobile and traditional imaging industry. Scalado says its expertise, alongside a host of other leading experts, will help to develop a complete set of image quality testing metrics and methodologies in order to enable a consumer-oriented image quality rating system, which is part of the I3As Camera Phone Image Quality Initiative.
Scalado develops and licences mobile imaging solutions for any camera-equipped mobile phone. The Scalado software is known for its fast and memory efficient image processing and is already embedded in several phones across the globe, and manufacturers to already adopt Scalado solutions include Sony Ericsson and Samsung to name a few. Scalado will join the Camera Phone Image Quality Phase 2 Initiative to actively put new industry standards forward and to team up with other industry leaders.
Mobile imaging is about Create, View and Share, and as consumers adopt camera-phones in record numbers, the traditionally separate communications and imaging industries start to converge more and more, says Scalado CEO Mats Jacobson. Our experience as an innovator in mobile imaging will enable us to make significant contributions to I3As ongoing work. We also believe that its critical for all parties to collaborate and work within the I3A umbrella in order to lead the way forward and enhance the consumer experience.”
