Seconds Out…it’s time for Media Fight Night

This year’s Media Fight Night, a charity initiative for the media and advertising industry, dedicated to facilitating positive change and impact, takes place on Thursday 2 November, from 6pm, at the Park Plaza Westminster, London. The annual media event, sponsored by Quantcast, Mail Metro Media and News UK, will see prominent professionals from the advertising world go toe-to-toe in intense boxing matches.

Launched by John Maloney, Global Chief Investment Officer at global media, commerce and content agency, mSix&Partners, in 2015, Media Fight Night has already raised over £1.3m for a range of charities and beneficiaries, including the Head & Neck Cancer Foundation, and mental health charity Off the Ropes – an organisation committed to promote the wellbeing of young people and adults through boxing projects.

This year’s Media Fight Night will support Carney’s Community in Battersea, London, a youth club aiming to transform the lives of young people in the local community. The organisation engages with 11-30 year-olds from disadvantaged backgrounds through sports, arts and other educational initiatives, helping them build essential life skills. All the funds raised will go to the charity and help shine a spotlight on Carney’s Community and the role it plays in empowering young individuals in Battersea and the surrounding areas.

15 adland professionals from prominent media agencies and brands will take part in Media Fight Night 2023, engaging in a series of boxing bouts: Abbas Agoro (OMD); Scott Braniff (Wavemaker); David Winstone (Channel Factory); Katie Batchelor (Twitch); Alex Hodge (Warner Bros. Discovery); Lauren Gray (The Corner London); Jade Farrugia (News UK); Risa Rakowski (Spotify); Mat Smith (GroupM); James Locke (Active International); Zoe Troughton (Warner Bros. Discovery); Romane Philippe (RTL Ad Alliance); Harry Day (Pubmatic); Dhakshi Satkuneswaran (Flux Outdoor); and Paul Briggs (Silverpush).

“The success Media Fight Night has enjoyed so far, with more than £1.3m raised since its inception, has vastly exceeded the expectations we had when we launched this initiative eight years ago,” said Maloney. “Media Fight Night reinforces the power of collaboration and partnership, and unequivocally proves that the media industry, together, can do great things to drive meaningful change and make a difference in the lives of people who are going through difficult circumstances. I cannot wait to reunite once again with some of adland’s prize fighters for an exciting night with a great cause to champion.”
