Mobile payments company mBlox has launched its two-way messaging services in the UK, France, Ireland, Belgium and Sweden. The service was previously available in the Americas only.
Two-way messaging – which sees consumers texting in to a shortcode, usually following a call-to-action, and receive a relevant response from the company – can be used for purposes from polling to balance inquiry.
“While smartphone adoption is justifiably driving innovation in new content and applications, SMS remains a core communications channel for the majority of businesses today,” says Rob Malcolm, general manager of messaging, mBlox. “By ensuring a direct channel between the marketer and the consumer, businesses have a platform for interactive communications and relationship building, while continual communications from the customer will also assist in the planning of future activity, and in being more responsive.”
