Shazam Launches Nokia QT App

Shazam has developed a version of its mobile discovery app specifically for Nokia’s new smartphones, the N8, C7 and C6-01. The app is available to download from the Ovi store, but will be pre-loaded on all N8 handsets in the coming months.

Shazam will also launch on E7 devices in February.
The app has been developed using QT, Nokia’s recently-launched development environment. QT makes it possible to build an app once and then deploy it on the Symbian and MeeGo software platforms.

Shazam on QT comes with all the usual Shazam features, including YouTube videos, the Shazam Tag chart  and tour information for tagged artists. Music can be also be bought via the Ovi Music store.

As usual, the free version of the app can be downloaded from the Ovi Store with a 30-day unlimited free trial of features from the premium Shazam Encore service. Once the initial 30-day period is up, users can pay a one-time fee of £2.99/€3.99 to carry on enjoying Shazam Encore or continue to tag up to five songs per month with the free app. Shazam on QT is currently available in over 200 countries worldwide and 28 languages.
