Shopify Launches Facebook Shop

Facebook ShopifyeCommerce platform Shopify has launched a shop section for Facebook, enabling merchants to showcase products that can be bought without leaving the social network.

Shopify clients can add the shop to their Facebook Page, and choose to either direct customers to their online store or to check out through the Facebook site or app.

Shopify acknowledges that Facebook store apps do already exist, but points out that these don’t work on mobile. It also claims two other USPs: appearing as a front-and-centre section of the Page, rather than behind a tab, and a subscribe button that notifies followers when new products are added.
