Shutterstock, which provides royalty free content such as stock images, video and illustrations, has announced that its mobile applications and contributor-facing website are now available in 21 languages. The update comes after the languages were already added to the Shutterstock customer-facing site, which houses over 225m images, and its newly released developer portal.
“Our contributor community plays an indispensable role in the success of our business and provides the essential and fresh new assets that are so important to the work of our customers as they create campaigns, websites, media, and films,” said Jon Oringer, founder and chief executive officer of Shutterstock.
The 21 newly added languages consist of: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Spanish (Latin American), Swedish, Thai, and Turkish.
The Shutterstock contributor-facing website allows a simplified image upload and submission process, produces portfolio insights which track earnings and downloads, and provides customer insights such as keywords or locations where contributor content is most popular. The Shutterstock contributor community currently includes 550,000 users, who upload and sell their videos, images, music, and other content daily.
“Our contributors come from over 100 countries. By truly localizing the website and mobile applications, we are improving their experience, which ultimately enhances the breadth and depth of the collection available,” said Oringer. “Over the last year we have made dramatic improvements to the contributor experience, rebuilding the site to simplify upload, tagging and reviews, which in turn benefits our customers with new content every day, from all corners of the world.”
