Mobile payments company The Mobile Money Network has launched the Simply Tap system after a successful trial period.
From today, UK shoppers can use the Simply Tap app to purchase products wherever they see a Simply Tap code.
Partnering retailers now include Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, Thorntons, Goldsmiths, Pretty Green, moreTvicar.com, and thehut.com. The company says that more high street brands are to be announced soon.
Users who took part in the trial have to delete the app from their phone and install the new version from the Apple App Store or the Android Market. Accounts set up during the trial will still be operational, so you need to log in with the same details.
The app works by storing details of the users payment card upon setup. The app is then ready for the user to tap in short product codes, to order and pay for a product. The item is then paid for by the app and sent for delivery to the users home.
