Sky/Virgin Deal Brings Sports and News to Virgin Anywhere App

Sky and Virgin Media have signed a five-year distribution deal which will bring Skys TV content to Virgin customers on mobile for the first time.
Virgin has an existing portfolio of Sky channels, to which it will add Sky Sports 3, 4 and F1, with Sky News and Sky Sports News to follow. But the deal will also make all of this content available via the Virgin TV Anywhere app. Customers with subscriptions to the Sky Movies and Sky Sports channels will also be able to access live and on-demand content using individual apps. 
“We’re pleased to have extended our partnership with Virgin Media, which increases the reach of our content and reinforces our broadly-based approach to growth,” said Sky CEO Jeremy Darroch. “This agreement builds on our long-standing relationship with Virgin Media, enabling us to deliver our great channels to even more homes across the UK and opening up additional sources of revenue.”
