Mobile advertising and ad optimization firm Smaato has unveiled new SDKs (Software Development Kits) for its mobile advertising platform SOMA, supporting the iPhone and Android devices.
The SOMA SDK for Android opens up access to 35 mobile ad networks worldwide to serve display ads within apps and mobile websites on Android handsets. Smaato recently released its metrics report for January 2010, which showed a significant increase in clickthrough rates on Android devices on Smaatos network
Smaato says it will enhance the upcoming SDK releases and the SOMA mobile web API (Application Programming Interface) with a free analytics and reporting dashboard to visualize usage data and help advertisers keep track of advertising revenues.
Smaato is also strengthening its mobile advertising technology and adding more partners to its ad network. The most recent addition is adsmobi, based in New York. adsmobi will use the Smaato services already available to SOMA ad network partners, and is focusing on providing a media buying platform for brands, working with advertisers and media agencies.
