Smaato Serving 16bn Ad Requests per Month

Mobile advertising and optimization firm Smaato is celebrating its fifth birthday with the news that it now serves over 16bn ad requests per month in its global network of more than 7,000 registered publishers.

“We started Smaato five years ago to develop apps and from early on, recognized the need for mobile advertising services, which quickly became our priority,” says Smaato CEO & co-founder, Ragnar Kruse. “We are proud to celebrate our fifth anniversary with such milestone achievements. In July 2010 we almost tripled our reach in monthly ad requests to more than 16bn, with 7,000 signed publishers. The mobile advertising market is growing exponentially and we are excited about the next phase in the mobile economy. A big thank you to all our customers, partners, investors, friends and the global Smaato team that have supported us along the way and believe in our vision.”

Smaato has also published the Smaato Metrics for July 2010. They reveal that Apple has enjoyed a significant increase in clickthrough rates, in the US and European markets, and indeed globally, while Android decreased significantly in the US.

After four months of decline, the CTR Index for Windows Phones increased for the first time globally. The global fill rate of ad networks dropped from 22 per cent to 16 per cent.
