SmartPod Makes Footasylum Debut

One iota has unveiled its in-store Commerce solution, SmartPod, at Footasylum’s flagship Manchester Arndale store. SmartPod enables Footasylum’s customers to browse and get help in buying from the entire eCommerce range. Customers have the option of free delivery to their home, or store collection. SmartPod also allows shoppers to make payments securely via a Chip & PIN terminal, and fully integrates with existing systems.
One iota says it developed the solution after researching the retail kiosk market and being horrified at the “dated” solutions available.
“We know retailers are keen to bring eCommerce instore to maximise revenues and enhance the customer experience,” says One iota CEO, Damian Hanson. “We firmly believe that SmartPod’s combination of innovative hardware, fully integrated commerce user experience and secure payment utilising Chip & PIN is unrivalled. It is important to offer shoppers the flexibility to browse and purchase at their convenience and technology plays an important part in this experience. Footasylum are up there as one of the most innovative retailers in the UK.”
Over the past 12 months, One iota has created a mobile-optimised site, a native iPhone app and a Facebook store for Fotasylum.
SmartPod can be customised as required, but standard features include a 32-inch multi-touch HD screen, barcode scanner, receipt printer and secure Chip & PIN payment terminal. Operating on One iota’s MESHCommerce Platform, the solution is fully managed by One iota, with full integration into existing back-office functions.
