Following the opening of an office in China last month, Snap is now looking to work on an advertising plan for the East Asia country – despite Snapchat being banned there along with all other popular US social platforms.
The tech and social media company is looking to boost its slow revenue growth and struggling stock price after an extremely disappointing 2017 in the wake of it going public. The company is now looking for an international strategy manager to help provide this well-needed boost in China.
“You will be responsible for developing and implementing our commercial strategy for the Chinese advertising market,” reads the job listing. “Working from either Shenzhen or Beijing, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams within Snap, as well as external partners, to grow advertising sales in China and APAC.”
It’s not yet clear how Snap intends to spread its commercial prowess in China, but the international strategy manager will be tasked with achieving ‘ambitious revenue targets’.
