Snapchat introduces all-new Bitmoji experience

Bitmoji DeluxeSnap, the parent company of Snapchat, is launching a new version of its Bitmoji app in order to give users the chance to create avatars that reflect their look and style more.

Bitmoji was the most downloaded app on the iOS App Store in 2017, ahead of Snapchat in second place. Now, it’s looking to continue that success with the introduction of Bitmoji Deluxe.

With Deluxe, users experience a new creation flow – which starts off with the option to take a selfie that can be used as a reference throughout the avatar creation process. The updated navigation bar at the bottom of the screen enables users to choose physical attributes and accessories for their animated self. Within the customisation options, there are new hairstyles and colour options, while the app has moved away from the idea of heterosexual norms – so, for instance, males can apply makeup and earrings to their characters.

The update is available to all Bitmoji users around the world on both Android and iOS. Users can still access Bitstrips and Bitmoji ‘Classic’ – as it is now titled – through settings.
