Snapchat introduces shoppable AR lenses

Snapchat Shoppable ARSnapchat is launching an ad format that enables brands to add a button to their lens which links users to either a website, longform video, or an app store page – while staying within the Snapchat app.

With Shoppable AR lenses, users able to take action with the tap of a button directly from the Snapchat camera, giving them the chance to learn more about, interact further with, or buy a product without needing to leave Snapchat and open another app or website.

“Shoppable AR Lenses give brands a new way to leverage our unique scale — more than half of the 13-34-year-old population of the US plays with our AR Lenses each week on average — to drive real and measurable ROI, whether that’s through sales, downloads, lead gen, or video views,” said Peter Sellis, director of revenue product at Snap.

Snapchat has launched the ad format with Clairol, Adidas, STX Entertainment, and King as its launch partners.
