SnapUp Lets Users Create Shopping Lists with Screenshots

Screen Shot 2014-06-01 at 2.10.44 PMAs the holiday season approaches, physical and online retail are readying themselves for their busiest period. mCommerce shopping app SnapUp aims to simplify shopping via smartphones by enabling users to track and compare items across apps and web browsers.

The iOS app enables users to add products to lists by taking a screenshot, whether it is inside an app or on the mobile web. The product is then added to a shopping list which automatically tracks price and availability.

Once an item is added to a list, it can be easily categorised and managed using a swipe interface, enabling users to create multiple lists for family and friends, and share them with other users, with a reward system in place for encouraging others to sign up for the app.

The price tracking feature enables users to keep an eye on items from multiple apps, and purchase them within the SnapUp app with a simple one-click interface.

“At SnapUp, were shoppers too, and we saw a need to reinvent mobile shopping,” said Shan Mehta, co-founder of SnapUp. “But were not fashionistas trying to tell you what to purchase – were data geeks. Retailers constantly change prices and availability, and were committed to helping shoppers organise the products they love and get the best information possible.”
