Somo has announced the appointment of one of the biggest names in mobile to lead its teams in North America as marketing development and strategic advisor.
Michael Becker joins Somo from North America’s MMA where he had risen during the last 10 years to becoming managing director. Becker, a mobile entrepreneur, author and evangelist, will focus on educating the market on mobile’s potential use throughout the path-to-purchase, as well as making key vertical recommendations. He will continue to support the MMA as an advisor and honorary member. 
Somo recently received more than £1m investment from the Mayor’s MMC Ventures London Fund, which is being used to bring more developers in house at its London Bridge office. Its media operations are temporarily being housed near Silicon Roundabout as the company has outgrown its Haymarket HQ.
