SoundCloud enters advertising partnership with Targetspot in European markets

SoundCloudOpen audio platform SoundCloud has teamed up with Targetspot, a digital audio advertising platform, to work together on advertising in France, Germany, and The Netherlands.

The agreement, which expands on an existing partnership between the pair in each of markets, enables advertisers to access SoundCloud’s audio and video inventory programmatically and directly in the European countries exclusively through Targetspot.

“Since launching our ad-supported businesses in France, Germany, and The Netherlands, Targetspot has been a great partner, helping us make it easy for advertisers locally to connect with our young, influential audience who are passionate music lovers,” said Michael Weissman, chief operating officer at SoundCloud. “This new exclusive agreement continues to provide advertisers Targetspots best-in-class experience when purchasing SoundCloud’s advertising inventory, and helps us continue to grow in these markets.”

Earlier this month, SoundCloud inked a Canadian advertising deal with DAX, the programmatic audio advertising arm of UK radio company Global, enabling advertisers to access SoundCloud’s inventory directly through DAX in the North American market. The pair were already partnering in the UK.

This followed partnerships with ad tech company AppNexus and streaming music service Pandora last year. The AppNexus deal made SoundCloud’s inventory available via the AppNexus Marketplace globally, while Pandora become SoundCloud’s exclusive US advertising and sales representation.
