MOVISTAR Chile and SpinVox have announced the launch of the first voice-to-text service in Latin America, available to all MOVISTAR Chile subscribers on contract. Movistar has 6.6 million subscribers in Chile. Its parent company,
Telefnica Latin America, also offers mobile, landline and broadband
services in several other Latin American countries.
SpinVox converts voice messages into text and delivers them directly to the recipient as a text message on their mobile. Subscribers see the message content, and the caller ID, so they can see at a glance who left the message, and then call or text straight back.
MOVISTAR Chile subscribers are being invited to sign-up for SpinVox via the MOVISTAR call centre or by visiting their retail outlets. The service will be available either as a monthly bundle of 10 or 20 voicemails, or on a message-by-message basis.
Providing the best possible customer experience is a key objective of everything we do, says MOVISTAR Chile Chief Marketing Officer, Paula Figueroa. That is highlighted today with the announcement of our partnership with SpinVox SpinVox adds to the already wide range of value-added services that we make available to our customers and will be an integral part of (our) innovative portfolio of products.
SpinVox services are currently available in Europe, North America, Australia and Africa. As part of its plan to grow its presence in Latin America, SpinVox has appointed Nicols Herrera as Sales Director, Latin America and Ricardo Dorado as General Manager, Chile. SpinVox is currently available in four languages: Spanish, English, French and German. The company plans to add Portuguese and Italian language capability to its portfolio in the coming months. As well as converting voicemail messages to text for SMS or email delivery, SpinVox has also developed a range of other services enabled by voice-to-text conversion, including posting blogs; speaking a text or dictating a memo which is delivered to an email inbox.
