HipLogic has introduced a Sports module for its Spark app for Android, giving sports fans a way to access scores and news from major sporting events, and follow their favourite teams, through their mobile phone’s homescreen.
In the US, the Sports module will cover the NFJ, MLB, NBA, NHl and NCAA professional and college sports leagues and championship games. Outside of the US, the module will cover European football and cricket. Users can personalize their feeds to get the latest news and updates on the teams and sports they like to follow.
“Spark is the fastest way for people to find scores from US and international sporting events as they are happening,” says HipLogic CEO, Mark Anderson. “Spark’s ability to deliver sports scores in real-time to your phonetop means that fans everywhere will be able to follow every point, goal and score across multiple sports leagues without having to open a web browser or app.”
Spark offers an alternative user interface for Android phones, presenting customisable news, weather and entertainment feeds on the homescreen, together with daily deals. It also provides easy access to other key applications, such as email, calendar, messaging, and the user’s favourite apps, with social integration to enable users to share and comment on news, sports results etc., through Facebook and Twitter.
