SpinVox Hires Wilks

Voice-to-screen messaging company SpinVox has appointed Beverly Wilks to the role of Vice President Consumer Marketing, North America. Wilks joins the company as SpinVox builds its global brand with consumers and invites the world to speak freely through its industry-leading voice-to-screen applications. She joins the company after a successful tenure at OZ communications, where she led marketing and communications efforts and  strategic marketing relations with companies such as AOL, AT&T, Bell Canada, Gap and Virgin Mobile USA.
Prior to her role at OZ Communications, Wilks managed marketing and communications efforts for Adacel, a simulation software and air traffic management solution provider, and before that, for VIPswitch and Memotec.
The SpinVox brand has been built by stealth for the past four years as weve honed our technology and integrated our voice-to-screen services with telecommunications carriers around the world, says James Scroggs, VP Consumer Business at SpinVox. The time has now come to directly raise the awareness of consumers on how voice-to-screen can dramatically improve efficiency and productivity in existing applications like voicemail or allow users of Web 2.0 applications like Facebook and Twitter to speak in the moment. Beverly is the ideal candidate to drive these efforts in North America.
Within the past year, SpinVox has launched services in North America with Cincinnati Bell and Sasktel. Between now and the end of the year, the company says it will launch services with Rogers in Canada and Alltel in the US. Around the globe, the company has formed relationships with Vodacom, Skype, Vodafone Spain, Six Apart and Telstra.
