Spotify has launched its music streaming service in eight new markets.
As well as expanding its presence in Northern Europe, adding Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Iceland, Spotify is also taking its first steps into Latin America, with the addition of Mexico, and Asia, with Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore.
This brings the total number of countries where Spotify is available to 28.
By comparison, online radio service Deezer is available in 182 countries, and has 26m registered users, 2m more than Spotify. However, more countries isnt necessarily the key to growth – Pandora, which is only available in three countries, recently announced it had hit 200m users in the US alone.
