Spotify unveils new features for Megaphone platform

Spotify has launched new new features for its Megaphone platform, aimed at helping podcast publishers maximise their revenues.

According to the streaming giant, the advanced tools enhance both audience engagement and monetisation.

In a statement, Spotify said: “We continue to remain committed in making Spotify the best platform for all types of creators to connect with their biggest fans and grow revenue.

“These new tools are the latest investment in enabling publishers to provide greater value to their advertisers while becoming more efficient when it comes to managing their podcast business.”

The newly launched features include contextual targeting, which allows publishers to offer advertisers episode-level targeting and exclusions based on specific topics. This capability will be available at no additional cost to all Megaphone publishers who are part of the Spotify Audience Network.

Spotify has also introduced segment editing, a tool that simplifies ad break management. This feature enables publishers to remove specific audio segments, including baked-in ads, and replace them with dynamic ad locations without the need to re-upload the entire audio file.

Additionally, bulk editing has been added, allowing publishers to make changes to multiple ad campaigns simultaneously. This streamlines the editing process, enabling adjustments to CPM, pacing, and targeting across various campaigns from a single screen.

Meanwhile, with these new features, Spotify is further empowering podcast publishers to optimise their advertising strategies, ensuring that they can continue to grow and thrive in an increasingly competitive market.
