Sprite is celebrating hip-hop’s 50th anniversary with a summer campaign that includes the launch of a new Sprite flavour – Sprite Lymonade Legacy, a twist on the lemon-lime soda featuring a splash of lemonade and strawberry; sponsorship of the summer’s biggest tour and exclusive drops.
The campaign features hip-hop stars, Nas, Rakim, Latto and GloRilla, with ad spots set to the tune of a remixed ‘Rapper’s Delight’ by The Sugarhill Gang. The campaign will appear across TV, OTT, online video, social and cinema. As part of the campaign, Sprite will also be the official beverage sponsor of the Drake’s ‘It’s All A Blur’ summer tour.
Over the course of the summer, Sprite will unveil its ‘Summer of Drops’, hundreds of drops in honour of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary. These will include access to exclusive content, merchandise and event experiences. Consumers will be able to engage with the drops by entering the ongoing sweepstakes via on-pack QR codes, digital and social to win individual drops and exclusive content. Fans will need to scan both the base Sprite and Lymonade Legacy cans to unlock access to all drops.
Prizes on offer include event experiences such as Drake meet-and-greets (in addition to the opportunity to win tickets), and a Rolling Loud Lifetime Pass. Merchandise to win includes Polaroids signed by Nas and and signed directorial slates from Rakim, GlorRilla and Latto, as well as mics and tour t-shirts. Other prizes include access to exclusive content featuring Latto and Rakim.
