Hats off to research firm mobileSQUARED for a fantastic mobile Guildford (moGU) event this evening.
I don’t want to name-drop, but in the course of around three hours I’ve met a mobile start-up planning a sort of cross-network Blyk; discussed the merits of Flight of the Conchords; put a face to the name of at least three PRs; discovered more about one man’s attempt to tap into the booming Chinese and Indian mobile markets; heard about another's near-death experience on a motorbike; and secured another Guest Column from one our best contributors, who’s going to reveal all about the joys of ad-sponsored SMS in the next couple of weeks.
There was also time to interview mobileSQUARED CEO Nick Lane about the company’s off-the-shelf and ad-hoc research offerings, and we’ll be running this interview in the next week or so.
Oh and I drank beer and ate pizza as well, all paid for by mobileSQUARED, but then, so did everyone else.
It was great to see so many familiar faces at the event, and to meet some new ones too. mobileSQUARED has some big ideas going forward. All will be revealed in the interview.
